On Friday, August 7, I’m opening the Capital Sound Series with City Cruises and the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment. We board at six, we sail at seven, and for two and a half hours the city goes by while the band plays.
Expect what you come to a Marcus Johnson show for: smooth jazz that breathes, soul and funk that sneak up on you, a band that listens to each other — and this time, the Potomac doing its part.
Come early. Stand at the rail for a minute before we start. Let the day fall off.
